Where is the town of Si Racha?

In the broad sense, "Si Racha" refers to the wider "Si Racha District," which also includes Laem Chabang (a district is roughly equivalent to a city). In everyday conversation, however, "Si Racha" usually means the central area — the Si Racha sub-district — and this is where most expatriates live, together with the surrounding area (eastward to around J-PARK on Motorway No. 7).

Administratively, Si Racha is also a municipality (Thesaban), classified by population as a "Thesaban Mueang." The town has both a district office and a municipal office.

The town centre and its landmark

The heart of Si Racha is the area known as Si Racha Nakhon. Using the Robinson department store as a reference point, a variety of shops — including many restaurants — cluster within walking distance. There are few tourist attractions, but Ko Loi, a small island connected by a bridge, is the town's landmark and is affectionately known among Japanese residents as "the Enoshima of Si Racha."
